A Scotsman, Through & Through

Every once in a while I meet someone who the camera just loves.  Here are a few images of Connor, a naturally-gifted musician and genuine Scotsman.  Connor was kind enough to spend several days with me and a few friends.  We shared a lot of laughs, and he deepened my love and appreciation for Scotland by showing us the sights, teaching us phrases in a Scottish dialect (Doric) such as "fit like" which means "how are you," and sharing with us some of the history of his country.

Lay of the Land

Much of the trip has been spent in Scotland's third largest city, Aberdeen.  The days have been chalked full of road tripping to the coast lands and old castles, experiencing traditional tea times and cultural cuisine, and spending time with, hands-down, the most hospitable people on the planet.  The weather has been bearable, with sunshine almost everyday for at least an hour or so, and temperatures in the high fifties.  Apparently, this has been the warmest April Aberdeen has seen in 100 years--I must have brought it with me from the sunshine state.  I'll take the credit for that one, no problem!

So, today's post will probably appeal most to the tourist in you.  I have an incredible body of work emerging from this trip, but that must be saved for the coming days.  :)  These images should tide you over for now!

It has been an amazing journey thus far, and it promises to get better and better.  Tomorrow I will head south for six days to the nation's largest city, Glasgow.

LAX > MEM > AMS > EDI

The journey began Thursday at 7AM.  We started in LA, then Memphis, then Amsterdam, then Edinburgh, and finally a two hour drive through the rain, to Aberdeen; welcome to Scotland.  Stay tuned.
