From London, with Love

"Bye-bye Miss American Pie..." I can still hear Richard Swan softly strumming the guitar and toying with the tune while I changed lenses and loaded film. I had met Richard briefly just two days prior at a networking event. After the first words of the first song he sang, I knew I needed to photograph him. Forty-eight hours later, Richard and I were shooting on the streets of Covina. As an artist, often times I find I'm inspired most by the raw talent in others; this case was no different.

Richard resides in London, and is currently working on his album, which is set to release in 2010.

Traveling...

A perfect Colorado sunset. Just arrived in Denver for a week-long visit. Many good images to come, I promise! For now, a three hour layover--all for a twenty minute flight to Colorado Springs...lovely.

Flashback Friday: Venice Beach

Truth-be-told, these images were shot a week or two ago. However, I am away from the office today and didn't want to let my readers down! So, I gave the images a bit of an old school flare. Just think of this as a different kind of "flashback."

Flashback Friday: A Year Ago Today...

...I was in Puerto Rico! I just can't believe how quickly time flies. Thought I'd repost a couple of my favorite travel images from the trip. Also, click here to see a long slideshow of work. Have a great weekend!

Flashback Friday: Tour of California

As I pondered today's post, it dawned on me that the Tour de France is in its final stages. So, I thought in honor of this occasion, it would be fun to share a few images from the Tour of California I photographed in 2007. This was my first attempt at shooting cycling, and to be honest, I am fairly ignorant when it comes to the sport. But I feel a fresh pair of eyes on any subject, combined with a passion to grow as an artist and individual, can yield uniquely wonderful results...but that's just how I see it... I suppose you can be the judge!

A Work In Progress

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to photograph the lovely Kinsey d'Aquila, who is wrapping up recording her first solo album entitled Joy. More shooting today, but I wanted to share a couple images from yesterday's shoot...More to come!

Portfolio Work

Every now and then, I find an out-take that I just love from a shoot. This is friend, Amanda, who was actually assisting me last week on a portraiture shoot... The flare from the sun was just heavenly and Amanda's expression is completely genuine; so perfect!

Flashback Friday: Transformation

Four years ago, this image was the star of my ever-evolving body of work. Hard to believe, right? It's so refreshing and encouraging to look back over the years and see how my work has changed because nine times out of ten, it's a direct reflection of my heart. From glamour to globetrotting, who knows what my book will be like in the coming years...

More in-depth blogging next week, as I am headed to the US Performing Arts Camp at UCLA to spend time with some of the most talented young people in the world. :)

Sneak Peak: LA Favorites

Today, it's back to business as usual. I have a week's worth of work to catch up on, so I'll make this short and sweet. I'm working on images I've captured in the last six days, but don't have much time to finish them this afternoon. So, I thought I'd give you a sneak peak for now. Enjoy your Wednesday!
